Tokyo events for Monday, February 9, to Sunday, February 15, 2026.
This week, we’ve got some of our favorite plum blossom festivals, as well as where to celebrate Valentine’s or Galentine’s day in Tokyo. We’ve also got tips on how to catch the Super Bowl and an exciting new opening in Harajuku.
Feb 13th
Has Harajuku lost its edge? Kawaii Monster Land, a new underground entertainment space opening beneath Takeshita Street, is setting out to bring back the neighborhood’s kawaii chaos.

Introverts’ Home creates low-pressure social events for those of us who enjoy a slower pace. At this artsy and craftsy event at Phrase Gallery in Yoyogi, you’ll find love-themed books for sale curated by Feather Heart Books and watercolor bookmark making.
Feb 15th
Jazz & Soul Unbound is a music event curated by renowned jazz pianist Takeshi Ohbayashi, a.k.a. Tcash. With danceable grooves at the forefront, this edition will feature performances from Yuka Seki, Konatrio Ishikawa, Reiya Terakubo × NEWLY, DANTZ, and ALI, fusing jazz, soul, hip-hop, and electro.

A string quartet will take you on a journey through romantic songs and ballads made famous by hit movies such as Love Actually, Moulin Rouge, La La Land, Twilight, and more. Take in the dreamy performances while being surrounded by candles.
Nov 1st - Feb 15th
Head to the Tokyo Tower main deck to see the view of the city enveloped in butterflies and ice. This collaboration between Naked and Tokyo Tower will see projection mapping take over the north side of the second floor of Tokyo Tower’s main deck for a light show entitled Light Fantasia Winter 2025. The tower will be lit up in pink on February 14, and they’ll be hosting a special city pop DJ night on the 13th.

Held on the first-floor main deck, Tokyo Tower will host a stacked lineup of local city pop DJs and VJs to get you dancing with a 150-meter-high Tokyo night view.

For over a decade, The Pirates of Tokyo Bay have been creating hilarious improvised comedy scenes, stories, and songs based on audience cues.

If you can’t wait for plum or cherry blossoms, Matsuda’s Wintersweet Festival has you covered with some of spring’s earliest blossoms. Home to over 20,000 wintersweet trees, the southern slope of Yadoriki’s Utsushige district is brimming with delicate, waxy yellow flowers and their distinctive sweet fragrance.

Mainly happening around Sōga Bessho Bairin — a grove of about 35,000 plum trees — this famous festival gives visitors the chance to see the plum blossoms in full bloom.

This plum festival celebrates kōbai, a variety of deep red plum blossoms. The shrine enshrines the ancient poet Sugawara no Michizane, known for his love of flowers.

The plum garden at Jindai Botanical Garden bursts with life, color, and music during winter. The gardens have 150 plum trees with around 70 varieties. Catch vivid red and pink blossoms.

The yearly Koishikawa Plum Festival takes place in Koishikawa Kōrakuen Garden, near Kōrakuen. The garden has a modest grove of plum trees that bloom from February to early March.

While small, the park has about 650 plum trees, making it a fitting location for Setagaya’s ume (plum) matsuri. On weekends during this festival, vendors sell plum-themed food, such as madeleines and jelly. There will also be some performances.

On the weekends in the gardens, there will be plenty of things to see apart from the sprouting plum blossoms. Expect dances, guided walks, and performances.

Held over a week, the Japan International Orchid and Flower Show features exhibitions, contests, and markets. Visitors can experience an array of beautifully arranged floral artwork from the moment they walk in.
Jan 8th - Feb 23rd
From early January to late February every year, icicles and other interesting shapes appear in Yokoze, Saitama. On Fridays, weekends, and holidays, the area will also be illuminated, creating a beautiful frozen wonderland.
Nov 13th - Feb 15th
Now in its 24th year, the Marunouchi Illumination is split across two main areas: Nakadori Avenue and Gyōkō-dōri Avenue, which stretches from the Imperial Palace to Tokyo Station. The Nakadori lights run until mid-February.

This annual festival is run by volunteer whisky lovers and showcases the passion of makers around Japan. Bars and breweries, both Japanese and international, offer tastings of their signature brews.

If you’d like to give some of their food and cultural attractions a trial before you make the trip south, then this event gives you a chance to do just that. The area is known for brown sugar and miso beans, but there will also be a wide variety of potato dishes.
